Virginia Beach 2008

This post is a little late since this trip was in June, but I finally downloaded the photos. We had such a good time although a few challenges along the. All of the children were together for the first time in years including our wonderful daughter in-law, Robin. We stayed at the Edgewater condominium thanks to Tabb's mom. I believe it was on day 2 that Cory came down with a bad stomach ache that quickly progressed to a ruptured appendix. He had emergency surgery at Virginia Beach Sentara Hospital. His care was excellent. Most of the time he was the only pediatric patient; so he received lots of wonderful attention. Cory recovered quickly but was in the hospital for 6 days. So our vacation was spent with Tabb and I alternating days and nights at the hospital. The highlight of the week was Katie's baptism at a local ward in Virginia Beach. Ma spoke...she did such a wonderful job. Dr. Bill Dewalt was present along with the Bishop and a few missionaries. It was certainly a very special baptism since Katie was our last child to be baptised. In addition to Cory's Surgery and Katie's baptism we made a quick trip to Richmond to attend Katie Leake Harrison's wedding reception. We also visited Tabb's father's grave site. We also managed to have a family dinner with Tabb's Mom Audrey and Bill Dewalt. I have great hopes that sometime this Fall we can return to VA Beach for another attempt at vacation (and with a little less drama)!
