Hi Everyone,
We just got back from a wonderful trip to Lake Tahoe. The weather was gorgeous!! The salmon were still running....probably one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen. I got up at 6am to hike up to a burned out section of the forest - around 8,000 ft. I was all by myself...no one else shared my spirit of adventure. It was incredible to be up before the sun and to see it rise over the lake. It was a little hard to breathe on the way up the mountain. At one point, I heard a bear scratching his back against a tree...that was a little unnerving! You could tell that winter was coming...the forest was so quiet, leaves were already off of the trees, and the air was clear and cold. If only I could move Tahoe a little closer to Raleigh!! Enjoy the photos.....(my favorite is of the psycho squirrel - look at its eyes!).
